The bathrooms have glass showers, tile floors, and a marble vanities. The beach, blockbuster and a variety of restaurants are within walking distance. And, it was an extremely great value. "Pacific Beach is a smaller down to earth beachside town halfway between La Jolla and San Diego. Quick Drive to La Jolla Cove, Seal Beach, downtown San Diego, Sea World. Luxurious yet cozy 3 story hotel right on boardwalk with inexpensive restaurants all around. Steep steps down to wide pristeen beach. Lobby level rooms open directly out to pool area nd boardwalk. Privately owned. Attention to detail shines through everywhere. Highlight of our 2 week California road trip!"

"This hotel is located perfectly adjacent to the Pacific Beach walkway. It is on a cliff so it is not necessarily breachfront. To get to the beach you'll have to either walk down the stairwell from the walkway and you will be on the north side of the pier, or walk south on the walkway which takes you to the main Pacific Beach strip .25 miles down. Either way it is convenient. The room was great with wooden shutters. large balcony with patio furniture. Bathroom was large. LCD tv. drink table. work table. comfortable bedlinens. great central ac and ceiling fan. Only complaint is a lack of foodbeverage options. There is no cafe. The gift store did not have refrigerated beverages. The hotel bar was extremely small and unstaffed. Not a deal breaker but this is usually what you get at high end hotels."

"This was our 2nd stay at Pacific Terrace. We went back because of the great location! You literally can walk onto the boardwalk and beach from the outdoor pool area. With small kids this is almost a necessity! Also, there are many choices for food within walking distance if you choose not to get room service (which is very good by the way). Also a grocery store and a drug store near by just in case. We got in a little early and were very pleased to be upgraded to a full ocean view, when all we had reserved was the basic room. The pool has fire torches surrounding it at night which is very romantic from the balcony with the ocean in the backround. The staff is very nice and super helpful with anything you need. I definately recommend, even if you get the standard room (which we had with our first visit last summer). The location is fabulous and the rooms are as nice as my home in Phoenix."

You cannot beat the location... right on the beach, between San Diego and LaJolla, not more than 15 miles from anything you will want to do in the area. "the lack of a restaurantbar, and the price of parking. There are a lot of different barsrestaurants within walking distance from the hotel, but there are times when I would just like to stay in the hotel to get a drinksnack. As for parking, they charge $20 to use the underground, gated lot. You can't even park in the alley without paying the fee. Otherwise than that, I don't think I could have found a better-valued hotel in PB. We had a full-ocean view, and the room was much larger than most other non-suites that I've stayed in. It was clean, the staff was all very friendly and helpful, and the 42 inch plasma tv was a nice bonus. "This is the place to stay if you want to be on the beach. The hotel's pool and hot tub were very nice also, and the poolside towels and robes in the rooms made an evening dip especially nice. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and there were lots of little touches that made our time there special (belgian chocolates left in our room with turn-down service, fresh cookies in the lobby at 4:00, a glass of wine when you check in). Though the carpets could use a good cleaning, we were happy with the overall cleanliness and spaciousness of our room. We stayed in a partial ocean-view on the 1st floor, and the view was pretty obstructed, but it did mean that our patio was more private than most. One downside of being on the first floor at the north end of the hotel is that we could hear the lobby noise (sometimes waking us up at 4:00am). We looked at a non-view room and it had a great view of cars parked 10-15 feet away, so it really is worth booking at least a partial-view room."

The property is beachfront so even lounging at pool you see the sunset and ocean. Nice 42" plasma tv, I think 42". Rooms were cozy and since we were on the first floor we could walk right out to pool. The beach was nice. Many places to eat nearby and hotel provides dinner info for surrounding areas. The walls are kind of thin, so be prepared to get up at 8am. I prefer to sleep late when I have no agenda. Valet parking is $20.00. I recommend this hotel if you are searching for nice hotel and do not want to pay for 4 or 5 star prices."

There are some very nice touches that make your stay a bit more comfortable. i.e., Wine upon your arrival, cookies at 4:00 PM, water, lemonade and coffee and tea available at a central location all day, every day. Housekeeping staff was nice, views were spectacular, but don't expect catered service or personalized attention. Great access to a running trail, pier, shops and the beach. Although we arrived at 4:00 PM (Checkin time), our room had already been given up so we had to pay extra to upgrade to a bigger room. The upgrade to the Ocean View room was very nice, but you can expect to pay more upon arrival. Parking at the hotel is $20, but you can save it by parking on the street (this could be difficult during high season). Wi-fi is free, but connectivity is very slow."

The staff wasn't nearly as friendly and accomodating, and when we checked in, I was really pushed to pay the $ extra per night to park my car on their property. It used to be a cost only if parking in their garage and not outside, which would have been nice if I was told that before I arrived. We also had a problem with our sink backing up (twice) but to their credit they were prompt in sending someone up to fix it right away. Also be aware they have a strict 10PM curfew of no noise, and they will ask you to leave the pooljacuzzi area promptly at 10 even on weekends whether you are quiet or not. It has a great location along the beach, and the rooms are very clean - maids come twice a day which is a nice touch!"
