"This property was built in the early 70's, and it shows. It's not run down, just used. The room was clean, it had that AC musty smell at first, but we got used to it. The bed was a bit on the old side, and the deco of the room was typical motel. I felt safe walking around the parking area when returning late at night. The property was well lit. Lots of people with kids, but it was still nice and quite on a summer weekend. If you are a Florida local like I am, and just want to pop in for a night or two, this place can be a great deal. If you are looking for a resort that will give you lasting memory's of modern elegance and style, look elsewhere."

"Our room, the hotel grounds and the pool were all very clean. I love the beds and pillows! The staff was incredibly helpful and very nice. The continental breakfast was good with a nice amount of variety. This hotel was definitely a highlight of our trip! I would love to stay there again and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone we know."

"We always stay here when we go to Sarasota each summer. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. The pool is well maintained and clean. The Breakfast Suite is manned by Roger and Dolly, who seem more like family than hotel employees.
Top that off with free wireless internet access, and a Gateway computer for the use of those guests that do not have a lap-top, and you have all the makings of a truly great value."

"This hotel is clean, comfortable, friendly, well-maintained, everything you ask for in a cost-effective lodging option. The pool was great too! We book our lodging for the purpose of a good place to land after the adventure of the day. For that purpose, it was perfect! Highly recommended!"

"This hotel was clean and comfortable enough to wind down and sleep. I would not recommend it for a vacation although the pool area did look nice. The elevator was a little scary so I used the stairs. My only complaint is that for breakfast everything had sugarcarbohydrates except for the hard boiled eggs. I will stay there again if I am in town on business."

"For what you pay to be in Sarasota close to the beach and shopping, this is indeed good value. It was useful to have the wireless internet and amenities one would find only in 4 to 5 star hotels like complementary breakfast, pool, coffee in room etc etc. It might be helpful though to have a nice lounge area perhaps."

"I really enjoyed my stay and the location couldn't be better. It was so close to the beaches. The staff was very friendly and helped with ideas on where to go. If you like the night life there were many bars and clubs on Main street less than 10 minutes away and the beaches just as close. We were able to watch the sunset at Lido beach which was so nice. The rooms were very clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. For the price it was way worth it. I will definitely use this hotel when i go back."

"We are 2 adults and a 6 years old kid.We were at the hotel to sleep, eat breakfast, and we use the pool mid- afternoon it was great for whaat we did. The room was spacious enough for us, we had a 2 double beds without a view, wich meant we did not have the noise of the road nor the pool. the only negative: the pool closes early and the beds were to soft for my taste. the cleaning crew was very nice and efficient when it came to help my child with her lost toy....it went to the laundry.."

"The room could have been a little cleaner, and the hotel is in need of renovation. The pool was beautiful, but we were kicked out every night at 9:00 p.m. The hotel staff were not very friendly, and I did not feel welcome. The location was really nice which is why I chose to stay here in the 1st place. However, there are much better hotels to stay at for the price."

"I was there to dive on the Vandenberg, so I was not concerned about closeness to downtown. However, I did like the location and the grounds are large and the pool really nice. There was a free breakfast and food by the pool, but it closed at 5:30pm. Most people would go downtown to eat anyway. The was some airport noise but neither too early or too late. I would go again."

"I have stayed at this hotel many times. It has been at least 9 yrs since my last stay though. They have redone the pool area and it makes it all the better to stay there. The people who work there are very polite and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Key West."

"Not much can be expected when you get a hotel at this low of a cost...but it still had great things to offer...... The hotel room was just ok, not great, but if you are like me and dont care much about room appearance then its great....I for one only use the room for sleeping. Its a great location only minutes from downtown Disney attractions. The Pool area was very nice and much better than expected judging by the room. I quite enjoyed the pool area and the Tiki bar provides you easy access to drinks at a good price right next to the pool. The staff check-inout staff is less than friendly, but again, only had to deal with them for about 5 minutes total checking in and out so it doesnt bother me. Overall its a good deal for the cost and very good location."

"The hotel was worth the money, clean and a good location once you find it. It is hard to get in and out of the parking lot. I had a room overlooking the pool, it stays open until 11:00 with kids screaming and running around so make sure you request a quiet area. It stayed loud and noisy until way past 1:00 a.m with no resolution even after two complaints to the office. It is suppose to be smoke free, but smoking takes place outside the rooms and around the corridors, NASTY!!!! STINKY PEOPLE!!!!!"

"The rooms and sheets were clean. No bad odors. The room was spacious. The pool had good size, which was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast buffet in the hotel was abundant, fast and very convenient.
The location is great, very close to Universal and Disney, beside of other hotels and souvenir stores.
I recommend it if you are not looking for something luxurius but are in a budget. It is money well spent."

"The hotel was nice, but the rooms opened to the parking lot. That being said, the people in the room right next to mine, were partying. They removed the table from the room, and put it in the hallway. They were drinking, and were talking loudly, and were basically right outside my window. I called the front office and they said they would have security come and talk to them. Well, an hour went by and it seemed as if nothing changed. So, I called the front office again and asked for the manager. He said he would go over there and talk to them. Time went by and, the noise was constant. I called again, and again, spoke to the manager. Finally, the noise subsided. Other than that, the internet worked in my room and I was comfortable. The lady who answered the phone at night, was not friendly, but the manager was nice."

"My main concern was the check-in and the beds. We arrived at 5pm (we had joint rooms w other family members) and our room was not even "ready". However, our family's adjoining room was ready. We had about an hour wait before we could go in. We had drive for a while w kids so this was an inconvenience. The beds: The beds don't seem like full size beds. Maybe I missed this, but 2 adults would not be too comfortable on their regular rooms. Other than that, it was a good experience, but those items above are important to me. They had a lot of pools to choose from and everything else was good. Next to everything."

"It was not made clear that the shuttle service to Disney parks was run by a third party, so the shuttle trips were very limited, forcing you to stay 12-15 hours at a park or basically miss half a day there. It was an eitheror sort of thing. When we did use the shuttle, the bus did not pick us up at the time they promised, and there was no AC. Plus, you were made to feel obligated to tip the shuttle drivers, even though the service was free. When I talked to mgmt., she referred back to their website, saying all of the info. I needed beforehand should have been there. Again, it was too late because we had to rent a car last minute to salvage and make best use of our time at Disney. That was a fun and unexpected expense! The room itself has a strange old mustymildew smell, and the bathroom smelled all the time! Part of the faucet fell off during our stay, and instead of fixing it, housekeeping just set the piece next to the sink. ??? Upon arrival, the safe wasn't working. Luckily, it got fixed, after several conversations with various staff and a lot of language roadblocks. It was difficult to get enough towels and toiletries, and the bed, OH MY! It was hard as a rock. Luckily, we were dead tired after our days at Disney. Try another place or just stay on property! It's worth the extra expense, and you will feel safer leaving your things in the hotel. Plus, the Disney shuttles show up on time and don't ask for tips! They are even air conditioned!"

"I got chose this hotel after reading a review of a man who chose this same hotel after staying at Osprey Inn (which I had the misfortune of staying at as well... it was horrible!). The Best Western staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was adequate and Dolly (the lady who works at the restaurant) is properly named because she is a doll. Sweet and very personable. The pool was great (very warm too) and the hotel is only minutes from Lido Beach (Armand Circle) and Siesta Key. Perfect location, perfect staff, great experience. Will stay again."

"We stayed here for the annual Sarasota offshore boat races. The Best Western was only five miles from Lido Beach and that was perfect. The room was clean and quiet and the facilities were well-maintained. The breakfast bar was such a nice surprise - not your typical continental breakfast. Literally, there was something for everyone, from your donuts and muffins to bagels, french toast sticks, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and of course coffee, juice, and milk. And the man that ran the place - Roger - was an added bonus. Be sure to give him a wave while you're there. All in all, this was a very pleasant stay."

"It is right inbetween Siesta Key Beach Lido Key Beach. The service was amazing, the staff was excellent, they don't complain or charge you if you check out late (as long as you let them know), the beds are super soft and large (didn't make any noise no matter what you were doing in the bed), the breakfast was great, shower heads have great adjustments, and the price was amazing; excellent place to stay. The ac unit was loud but only problem (if that even classifies as a problem). It wasn't loud that you couldn't sleep or anything, just had to put up volume on the tv."

"NOT BAD AT ALL, RIGHT IN BETWEEN OF SIESTA KEY AND LONG BOAT KEY PLUS NEXT TO DOWNTOWN. THE BEST PART OF ALL WAS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE, VERY FRIENDLY. CUTE OLD BUILDING AND VERY ORGANIZED. "Hotel is on the quiet side of island away from duvall and the busy downtown. Great for us, but if you are going for the nitelife a little far. The hotel is on the older side but very clean. Great pool and tiki bar. It is located next to the airport but noise was really not a problem because we were not in the room much and did not hear planes at night. Location is very close to public beach...if you are going for the beach you will probably be let down...semiclean, lots of seaweed, and homeless people. We went to do the dry tortugas which I highly recommend. All in all if you want a more low key location
a clean room, helpful front desk, and do not mind outdated interiors stay here. If you are going to spend most of your time on or around duvall pick a different hotel."

"Ok so the hotel is great (even tho they could improve their breakfast). Their breakfast is all sweet stuff nothing salty. Anyhow the beach really sucked the water is full of seaweeds, it stinks and its dirty. The hotel is great but i could have gone to the pool at my house too.... !!"

"We called in advance for directions from the freeway and told to just take exit 64. "Then what?" I asked. "That's it, we're right there." We'll there are several decisions to make after that to find the hotel. After 3 calls someone gave us the directions. We were told no early check in but we could register early. When we arrived to register early we were told that we didn't need to. We wanted 2-day passes for Disney and were told they don't sell them only those for more days. That is pretty much how the visit went. The room is OK. It is close to Disney, etc. The price was low. The employees are grouchy."

"Was a little leary because the reviews were mixed, but decided to book this hotel anyway. We were pleasantly surprised. Our room had new tub and walls (like the "bath-fitter" that goes over the existing walls), new vanity and sink. The cleaning staff did an excellent job making up the beds and leaving extra towels and coffee at our request. Our room was not a pool view (did not want one), but was very convenient to the pool. The pool was clean and a nice size, plenty of towels and lounge chairs (we went early). Only 2 small complaints but already knew about one of them because of other reviews: 1) The door was difficult to lock and the maid did not close properly one day, 2) the pillows were small, lumpy and very uncomfortable. We took the option with the breakfast included, and it was well worth the money."

"This hotel was in a terrible neighborhood. But that was not the biggest problem. Our room, and our entire floor, reeked of mold. It was as if the air conditioning had never been turned on and the floors had been soaked with water for months. We had to turn on our air conditioner full blast just to make the smell somewhat tolerable. The hotel didn't feel clean. I wore socks in the room, which I've never done before in a hotel. NOT satisfied. We will never stay there again."

"The best thing about this hotel is the price. When most hotels were doubling their prices for 4th of July weekend, this one wasn't. For what you pay, it is not bad at all. Do not be fooled by the boasting of 5 pools and mini golf. There are several seperate buildings and there is a small pool for each cluster of buildings to share. There is not a sprawling pool area with many pools to choose from and the mini golf is close but it is not part of the hotel amenities... it just shares the parking lot. The room was clean and comfortable except when the smoke alarm beeped every few hours all night from a low battery! I spoke to the manager who didn't seem to care much and barely offered an apology let alone a coupon for breakfast or something. Again, it is a nice hotel for the price... you get what you pay for."

"We were very pleased with the hotel and our room. The room was clean and the fridge was a bonus. The pools were clean and not crowded since there is more than one. I would definately recommend the Breakfast at the on site restaraunt as well as they have a pizza hut on site very convientant and family friendly."

"We used this hotel as a stop the night prior to our reservations at Disney. It is clear why this was a great deal. The rooms are very dated. They were clean, and as this is our general requirement we stayed our 6 hours and moved on to Disney the following morning. If our circumstance were the same in a future trip I would try a different hotel in the same area. Also, I would not stay here for a weeks trip to Disney or any other such attraction in Orlando."

"We had a great room that was only 5 feet from the pool. The pool was large and very clean. We loved being so close to Disney world and no problems parking and riding the shuttle. Last year we stayed at the Disney resort, port new orleans but we were happier here beacause of all the stops the bus makes to get you bak to your room and with the money we saved in this room it more than made up for the parking fee. The putt putt close by was very nice and within walking distance and the Walgreens within walking distance was perfect."
