"We were lucky to get a last minute stay at a resort on the beach. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. The room was perfect for families as well as the entire resort, from the playground, pools, restaurants, all the activities on the beach, hammocks and table located next to the playground and the arcade, we made use of just about everything. The only complaints we have are a lot of the games at the arcade did not work...the chairs were not convenient to the the shoreline to watch kids play, we used our towels instead and everyone was happy and we saved a few bucks, and last is we traveled with four children, the room was convenient as we slept in the living area and the four children slept in the bedroom in the two comfy cozy queen beds, and we slept on the most uncomfortable pull out couch. The only thing we would've changed is we would make the four kids sleep on the sofa bed and would've had a longer stay."

"Pools were waaaaay too crowded. Beach was crowded. Somewhat expected, being that it was a weekend but it would have been nice to have a little more privacy. Outside bar music was nice during the day. Food was great. Room was decent for the price. Bathroom very small and plain. Very loud door slamming, kids yelling at all hours of the day and night. Stayed in the King Suite and thanking God for the balcony to escape all the inside noise. Not a place for couples looking for a romantic secluded getaway. Great for families? Staff was very helpful and polite. Bad parking situation."

Thought areas would be separated. Most disappointing was no private balcony. Balcony was one extended walkway for all rooms. Pools small and overcrowded."

"I was somewhat disappointed when I arrived at the hotel. First let me say, I was traveling with 3 grandchildren. 11 year old boy, 9 and 7 year old girls. and their mother. I asked for a room with 2 queen beds. the girls could sleep together and boy would sleep on pull out bed. The room I booked was to sleep 6. More then enough room When we checked in we were told the room that they had planned on us staying in had water problems. So we were going to be put in a room with a King bed, and a pull out. Room sleeps 4, everything in room was for 4. They also said that if I wanted they could problerly change me the next day. I was so tired and my daught knew it we stayed where we were. We had just drove over 6 hours. and were very tired and hungry. all the kids wanted was to go to the pool. Me and my daughter were so tired. When we got to the room, and looked around I said I can't have my grandson sleep with his sisters. We can get you roll around, (they dropped it off while we were out of the room) They could have cleaned it up it was so dusty My daughter cleaned it off. That night when everyone was going to bed. Then the fun began, trying to arrange the roll around, we can't set it up in front of the door. So we squeezed it in front of the TV. I felt like I had stopped a the last motel in town and this was the only room left. I do not remember reading that we had to pay for parking. And a cabana on the beach what they did not say was you must go down real early to get one. They gave us our parking for free while we were there.Because of our problem What I could not understand was as guests we had to pay to parking. Come 6pm every night and there was no one at the gate and the gate was left open anyone could have come and gone all night long. The gentleman who checked us in said the kids under 12 would eat for free with a paying guest they made it sound that they were doing that also because of our problem (They hotel had it posted out side on the sign board) That bring"

There are two restaurant available within the hotel but there are also plenty of other restaurants within 5 minutes of walk. I would definitely recommend seafood and Cuban food. I'm sure every other comment has something to do with white sand, beautiful sunset, and friendly stuff so I'm gonna skip these. This hotel exceeded all of my expectations."

"The first time we went to the Sirata it was great. So, we decided to go back even though the price was a little higher than last time, we thought it was worth it since we enjoyed it so much last time. Boy, I was wrong. We were put into rooms that looked like an old motel (far from hotel), our toilet wouldnt flush, the sheets were too small for the bed so they would stay on, the remote for the TV didnt work, the shower didnt hold a steady temperature and the door to the room stuck so you really had to put your shoulder into it to open it. I was very disappointed this time around, way different from the first time we stayed. And for the money I was charged...totally not worth it!"

"I will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. If you are looking for a one stop shop, this is it. Wih two pools, 2 restaraunts and 4 bars you never really have to leave. On arrival I upgraded to a beach front room instead of the king suite I had booked. It was a smaller room but a king bed, and since there was only two of us size did not matter. The view and beach access were well worth it to us. All the staff we dealt with were great(although we mainly dealt with bartenders) The room was clean on arrival and since we were in and out all day we requested no service. We just swapped out clean towells and got more coffee and shampoo from house keeping. The bar food was fine and the one night we ate at at the compass grille we were happy. (we asked the bartender what to order)My girl friend wanted to stay an extra night and the front desk easily accomadated our request. The surrounding area is great, the beach is beautiful and the people were all friendly!"

"I stayed at the hotel in order to go to a conference at the neighboring Tradewinds Grand. Yes, it is not as fancy as the Tradewinds but it has everything you want in a beach resort: a great beach, two pools, two beach bars, towel service and very clean rooms. My only complaint that the hotel could control is that the maids did not re-supply shampoo on some days. The hotel could not control the weather which was torrential rain. I would advice anyone staying at this hotel (or any other hotel in St Pete Beach is to buy your sodabeer, snacks and breakfast pastries at the market to save some money during your stay."

"Upon arriving at the Sirita on a Saturday afternoon there were no parking spaces avbailable. With an $8.00 per day parking fee this is unacceptable. We were very disappointed in the beach front room at the hotel. First of all, there was a terrible odor, secondly the room was not clean at all, thirdly the room size is very very small. We were traveling with our 15 year old son and the room allowed for absolutely not privacy. Also when you enter the room the bathroom is directly to your right, again allowing for no privacy. The bathroom was the size of a very small powder room with a very small shower. No one over 5'6 could shower without hitting their head. The view was beatiful, however, we were on the first floor, again allowing for no privacy. A wedding party was stationed outside of our room the entire first night. After complaining to the staff we were offered a move to a King Suite, which is less expensive then the Beach Front and since we booked with hotels.com we were not given a credit for the difference. We moved to the King Suite. Very nice size, very nice view, however, you can tell the resort definitely needs to update and upkeep their resort better. We dealt with lights being burnt out, no cold water in the sink and phones that did not work. Maintenance was called to our room and they fixed light and phone but we were told we just needed to jiggle the faucet for cold water. This was not a solution, howeever, and the entire stay we had to use the sink within 10 seconds or we would be burned. One day at the pool a flock of teenagers arrived and were smoking, drinking, and swearing. No employee seemed to care until we reported it to the front desk and security was called. Security watched them drink in the pool and smoke in the pool for a half hour before saying something. As it turned out they were not even guests of the resort but local citizens who had snuck in. We did not pay an exorbinate amount of money to stay here so I guess you get what you pay fo"

The pool(s) and Jacuzzi(s) temp were perfect and very clean. The white sand beach clean and beautiful and easily accessed, easy to carry all our stuff for the day, umbrellas, chairs, towels, sm cooler, beach toys, etc. My only disappointment was the food at the hotel restraunts and actually in the entire area. Specifically the seafood. Just didn't seem like no matter where we ate, they just didn't know how to cook the seafood right, which being at the ocean, should have been their best meals. So other than that, we had a GREAT vacation and will definitely return."

"We stayed at the Sirata the week of May 25th. Prior to arrival I called ahead to inquire about a roll away crib and the staff was very pleasant and accomodating. The crib was already in the roomn when we got there! The room was nothing fancy. We stayed in a Gulf view suite. The room we ended up in was directly over another section of the hotel and we had a very 'ugly' rooftop view of the adjacent hotel. You could see the Gulf, but the roof top really made our particular room nothing to write home about. The area with the sleeper sofa had a nice 32 inch LCD TV, but the main sleeping area had an outdated tube tv. The carpet was very worn, and the bathroom tub had rust stains around the bottom. However, these were just some minor issues, and I was there to sit on the beach and play with my kids, not lay around in the room all day. The only really bad thing is that the mattresses were absolutly awful. The Sirata really needs to consider updating their bedding. The pillows we had on our bed were as thin as paper and even with 3 stacked together they were very uncomfortable. We flew so we did not bring our own pillows. If you drive to this resort, I highly recommed bringing your own pillows. Now, on to some more positive stuff. The hotel grounds were VERY clean and safe. Hotel staff were visible at all times and they were constantly sweeping, cleaning and straightening things. All three pools were very nice and the pool decks were very clean. The lady at the towel hut clearly hated her job, and she was the only person we bumped into at the Sirata that was unpleasant. Housekeeping, waitors, front desk, bar help were all very friendly and accomodating. The staff at the Sirata do make sure their guests enjoy themselves. The beach is adjacent to the property and an easy 5 minute walk from most rooms at the resort. Cabanas can be rented on the beach for $15 a day which is a pretty good deal. We had our own chairs and umbrellas which we bought down the street at Publix and h"

The guy just made it sound like I was an idiot and all the movies are different prices. NEVER paid $19 for one movie in a hotel before. It was Grand Torino -- not an adult movie -- don't know why it cost so much. Needless to say, they sent me on my way upset and feeling ripped off. "If you want 1st class, find another place. For the price and location, the Sirata is very nice. New it's not. Run down it's not. It's clean, comfortable and right on the beach. With 3 pools and 2 outdoor Tiki Bars complete with music along with a very nice onsite restaurant, this is definately worth the price. The beds were comfortable, and the toilet was quiet compared to a large suite hotel in Tampa we just stayed at for a conference. (What an annoyance!) The low water pressure refered to in other reviews was most likely due to a water saving showerhead as there was plenty of pressure at the tub spout. (Just being green?) The flat panel TV was rather nice. The studio kitchenette and full size refigerator with with a Publix Supermarket within walking distance helped save some money with breakfast and lunch. Suggestion? Take the segway tour in De Soto State Park."

"Very nice, clean linens and towels. Room opened right onto the beach. Good restaurants close, and tasty, efficient room service. All personnel associated with the hotel were exceptionally pleasant. Tub in bathroom felt as though it had nothing under it...hollow, and shaky to stand on. This was the only drawback."

"We had a 2nd floor end unit room that I thought was the best room there. It over looked the poolhot tub making it easy to know when the hot tub was empty. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly They have a lounge and 2 bars as well as a restaurant and the hotel is right off the beach. Great place for the money."

"we had an executive suite which had 2 queen beds, bath and a kitchen with living area and a balcony overlooking the ocean. The hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately we had clouds, rain and a lot of wind and only slept in the hotel and did not get a chance to enjoy any of the outside beauty. It was sad that I had to pay that amount of money just to sleep. We did eat in the Compass Grill and the food was great. I would recommend the property in nice weather! lol"
