"Exceeded our expectations. Didn't know there was a hotel in this location but it was so convenient, you can walk everywhere and the beach access is right across the street! Many restaurants within walking distance made it so wonderful. I definitely would stay there again. Friendly and helpful staff always available to assist you. The only downfall was the elevators took so long, I think one or two were begin constantly serviced so wait time seemed longer than usual but it just took some planning ahead on our part."

"We really enjoyed our stay. Street noise on Lanai really loud even on the 11th floor. Room was quiet. Staff very helpful. Good location. Right across from the Hilton Hawaii with good shopping close. Biggest problem we had was finding the front of the hotel. You actually pull up on the walk in front of the hotel to unload. You are then given a card to get into garage."

"updated appearance which was nice. Free hi-speed internet, 42" flat screen (don't have one at home), nice soft comfy beds. Parking was a problem. Website said parking available but doesn't mention a fee. On check in for five days @ $20day was an extra $100 less to spend on other stuff. after we checked in, I looked at the Aqua website and if I booked directly, We could have saved half of the parking. Hotels.com did price match for us however I should have did more research on the parking before booking."

"I booked a room here for three nights. The bed was comfy and the room was clean and the room decor was simple yet nice. The hotel is at one end of Waikiki, so if you want to be in the bustle, this is not for you. It is far enough away from the noise, but close enough to both Waikik and the Ala Moana mall to walk. It's also on a major bus line ... and only $2 to take the bus. It costs $20 to park your car overight. The continental breakfast was OK..just apples, oranges, bananas, and various breads and coffee and juice. The pool area is nice and clean but not big. Oh, and the elevators are in the process of rennovation, so be prepared to wait in the mornings and evenings for an elevator (kind of slow) or request to be put on a lower floor so you can take the stairs. On another note, do not eat at the IHop next door. I felt it was dirty and low quality. However, if you walk by it to the corner, you'll find the Wailua Restaurant...they have great breakfast and coffee ..."

"There are some serious problems with the customer service at this hotel. Maybe i just caught them at a bad time -- not my concern! A girl named Berna at the front desk was terrible on the phone as well as in person. She should be re-trained or terminated. The manager was equally useless on the phone and in person.
The elevators are under repair and the fire alarm went off at 6am -- forcing us to clear the building. I called to ask the front desk what that siren was and the person said "I don't know" and she would send someone up to check. Doesn't she know what's going on?
The only bright spots were the room attendant "Chaly" and "Larry" at the front desk.
They need to get it together. They have other properties that are run much better. Manager's need to be evaluated and re-trained NOW!!!!
I don't recommend this hotel until this is resolved -- I want a REFUND!!!!!! Truly,UPSET!!!!,
Jeff"

"I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Aqua Palms Spa hotel. Being a returning island resident, I appreciated its location on the downtown side of Waikiki. The hotel staff were unfailingly pleasant and answered my questions the 3-4 times I needed assistance. Having a parking garage was very helpful. I had a problem with an intrusive litle hum that maintenance quickly diagnosed and addressed. All this offered at a price that lower-quality hotels were asking, what a deal. I am definitely coming back to this hotel. And no, I am not getting paid or comped for this endorsement!! The hotel was full during my stay, so the secret is already out."

"This was my wife's and my second stay at the Aqua Palms and Spa. We really like it there, especially for the price that we pay each time we go. There were other hotels for lower cost, but we wouldn't have gotten the same quality for the dollar that we get at the Aqua Palms.
The Aqua Palms is right at the beginning portion of Waikiki, so getting in and out is reasonably easy. The hotel has parking, but there is a $20day charge, which is expected when living in Hawaii. Some hotels don't have parking at all, and guests are relegated to parking their vehicles on the street.
We've stayed in two different standard size rooms now, and they are really nice: flat screen TVs, high off the ground full size bed, couch, great AC, the bathrooms are beautiful and clean, etc. We checked in at night, but had a nice view of the city. The next morning we looked out and we could see Diamondhead. Although we had to gaze aroundthrough other high rises, it was spectacular to see this beautiful Oahu landmark.
The staff, as always, is friendly and courteous. The service is excellent and quick, which I appreciate.
We live in Hawaii, so we've stayed at several hotels over the years, including 5-star hotels. The Aqua Palms may not be a 5-star hotel, but in my opinion, you can't get any nicer for the price."

Having a frig and microwave was fantastic! And $20 a day for parking is a crazy bargain in Waikiki. There's an IHOP in building (next to the lobby), and you are very close to the beach and Ala Moana. For what we paid, you can't ask for much more."

"You can't stay anywhere for the what it cost at this hotel. The rooms were modern, clean and had the kind of convieneces you want when doing Waikiki on a budget. The Hotel is in a perfect location, between the Alamona shopping center(go right when leaving Hotel) and Waikiki beach (walk left) so we never even took "The Bus" this trip, except to Diamond Head which is too far a walk from any hotel. When you leave the Hotel there's a McDonalds and Subway to the right about a 100 yards and an ABC store to the left right around the corner (There's an ABC store on every corner) The only problem is the elevators are being worked on so get a lower floor is you can and don't want to wait to go up. Also remember, the first 4 or 5 floors are parking so the 3rd floor is actually the 8th floor. Walking down is not problem but after a day in the sun you may have to wait for an elevator. the pool didn't look very inviting and didn't notice anyone using it but hey you're in Waikiki, who uses the hotel pool. Overall a great experience. I'm a Hilton Gold member and I'm picky but I can spot a great deal and this hotel was it."

The only problem with the Hotel was the elevators, which are supposed to be in the process of being replaced. I had to climb 6 flights of stairs one day because I had already waited over 15 minutes for the elevators to pick me up at the 2nd floor... they always work at the main level and take you up, but getting down and getting from any other level up or down can be a real issue. I would suggest you call the hotel and ask if the elevators have been replaced, unless you like climbing stairs."

But a great breakfast place on the street level at the corner. Great complimentary coffee in the lobby 24 hours. Bus service within a block or so of hotel is convenient, but slow. Learn routes and times and what $2 round trip in 3 plus hours. Not easy to get to Diamond Head by bus, but main attractions are accessible by bus if you wait long enough. A tad short on amenities, (small closet, no hot tub, etc) it also had some nice features like a mini fridge and microwave in every room which meant not having to eat out every meal, which is pricey in Hawai'i. Especially if you have a conference at the MUCH more expensive Hilton across the street, I recommend this highly. It was a 2 minute walk that saved $100 a night."

"The Aqua Palms Hotel Spa was a nice hotel in a great location. We were located directly across from the Hilton Hawaiian Village and walking distance to everything. The staff was wonderful. When we checked in we upgraded and really couldn't ask for more. In previous reviews I read about the ice machine being in the parking garage. Well, our room was on the 10th floor and right off the elevators was an ice machine. So if you want ice and don't want to go to the parking garage, just jump on the elevator or take the stairs the 10th floor. We were well prepared for the elevators running extra slow, but since we were prepared, the long waits never really materialized for us. Generally our longest wait was maybe 8 minutes. As for people being over zealous for breakfast, well I never saw that. I generally went within the first two hours and never really had to fight for food. I was able to grab what I wanted and head back up to my room. Overall a nice hotel. Oh, and if you want a fresh towel daily for the beach or the pool, just go to the front desk and they have them there. I found this part out on the last day. We purchased towels instead. If we had known, we would have used the hotels beach towels instead."

"Well, they say you get what you pay for. We got an incredible airfarehotel combo rate, so I can't complain about the price. But our room didn't look anything like any of the photos on the website. I spoke to others that didn't experience some of the issues we had. We had a chronic ant problem; but to the hotel's credit, they did come right up to spray when we complained. The beds were very comfortable, but we got a terrible itch from sleeping in them. Don't know if it had bugs or just the detergent they used on the sheets. (it went away as soon as we got home and showered). For that reason alone, we wouldn't go there again. The rooms and bathrooms were very small. Did have a great TV though. The hotel was connected to an IHOP restaurant, which was good because the continental breakfast was a disappointment. $20 for parking I felt was extreme since better hotels charged less. There was always a wait for the elevators. And, it was more than a block to the beach. This is important when traveling with an elderly person or small children. This was my first trip to Hawaii, and it's true when they say that you don't spend much time in your room-fortunately. The room certainly didn't ruin the vacation, but it was the only disappointing feature in an otherwise awesome trip."

#40;it went away as soon as we got home and showered#41;.

"Received great room ratings. Location was perfect for us...less than 20 mins walk to Ala Moana Center where we caught the bus to our different adventures.
Walking distance the other direction to the shops, restaurants, and main strip of Waikiki. A couple blocks away from the beach, literally speaking.
Free Hilo Hattie Trolley right in front of the hotel with...

"The room was clean and the staff was very helpful especially in answering questions on how to get to certain tourist areas. However there were a couple of things I did not like. The elevators ran in a VERY slow manner but they did post a notice that they were working on the problem. In my room I did not...

"This was our third annual late-March visit to Oahu to visit family on the Windward side. Previously, we stayed in Kailua in a vacation rental home, and at the Marriott in Waikiki. For the money, we would definitely stay at the Aqua Palms again ($70night through Priceline). It met our needs as a clean, comfortable, welcoming place to sleep.
