"Beach: Sand: Course grain with a few rocks. Walk down to the left (towards Outrigger Waikiki Beach) and youll see a stark difference where the sand turns to fine and smooth with very few rocks. Hotel Room: Ocean-Front rooms are 35 long and 10 wide. Some (like ours #618) have adjoining rooms, in case you are traveling with a larger group. The 5th floor and above Ocean-Front rooms have clear, unobstructed views of the Pacific. The are three palms that partially obstruct the views for the floors below the 5th, but I doubt they make much difference (maybe it looks even more Hawaiian from there). Lanai has a 24 round granite table with two wicker-back chairs (quite comfortable). Shampoo is a local Hawaiian Brand called Luxus and is CoconutLime for both the Shampoo and separate Conditioner. Body Soap is Coconut Oatmeal and the hand soap is coconut glycerin. In-room coffee is Royal Kona 10% Hawaiian Blend. There was no decaf in our room. Shower head is a detachable 2.5GPM Grohe, very effective and yes, there is a bathtub. Electric Hairdryer (is there any other kind?) Iron and Ironing board. Beds are Serta high-end Hotel style with very high thread count sheets. Layers go like this: Smooth sheet, thin white quilted comforter, thick sheet then the thick comforter for those cooler nights. Theres a 5 foot long couch that pulls out into a bed. Pillows feel like feather, but are actually hypoallergenic foam and very good. "Definitely the most bang for your buck on the beach. It's a beautiful new hotel with all the amenities. The only problem is that there is currently construction on the hotel next door. It wasn't too loud, but sleeping in was not really an option."

"This hotel was in a really convienient location- a short walk from shopping and dining. I had asked for a city view, but our room viewed both the ocean and the city. It wasn't noisy either! I was prepared for a dirty , noisy city to look out on- and it was great! Nice little patio with chairs and a table. Rent chairs and an umbrella on the beach for $20 per day, and get a shave ice in the little food court just west of the hotel on the beach- one of the best we had on the island. Rooms are very nicely furnished, and clean. I was really impressed."

"When we arrived I asked if we had an ocean view. I had booked the hotel online and didn't know I wouldn't have one. The receptionist said I could update it for $25 a night, which I did. When we arrived in our room we were facing another building and had to stretch ourselves over the balcony to see two palm trees and a little water. If I had known that's all I would see I wouldn't have bothered with the upgrade. Otherwise, the room and hotel is very nice and everyone is friendly."

"I travel for a living, and I stayed at this same property two years ago, when they were in the middle of their major upgrade project. At that time, the rooms were a bit shabby, worn and outdated, but the staff's service was excellent. Now that the project is finished, the hotel, including the common areas and especially the rooms, are far more elegant, upgraded and convenient, and the staff's friendliness, professionalism and leve of service remains at the same high level as I remembered. The Shorebird Restaurant is exactly the same, which means that the food is good and the location (ON Waikiki Beach) is unparalleled. I would recommend the Outrigger Reef on the Beach without any hesitation to friends, family or colleagues."

"The best thing the Outrigger has going for it is location, location, location. Our room was pretty small for four people--our children are college students and we found the space a little cozy. But it did have two beds and a pull-out couch. Very clean. It was a partial ocean view and we did have a nice balcony view of the water. No upgrades were offered at check-in, and the reservation was to include breakfast. However, we only got breakfast for two and they would not upgrade to four even though we paid for four people in the room. We were able to use more than two breakfast tickets a day, so we basically got breakfast free two out of the four days for our entire family. We are at all three restaurants--Dukes, Hula Grill and Chucks--all were very good. The property is directly across the street from the International Market and right on Waikiki."

"We are a 28 year old married couple we went for our anniversary . We did a lot of research we LOVED this hotel. its at a more secluded part of waikiki beach. It was beautiful and remodeled and very clean! there was a starbucks downstairs you could eat breakfast at or 2 restaurants . The Shorebird is right on the ocean and very reasonable to eat at. The other restaurant is by the pool and their breakfast is good too but a little pricey. Everyone there is so nice and we had the best time. It was awesome having that hospitality room bc our flight wasnt until 9:30pm so we were able to swim in the ocean and they let us take a shower before our flight. We purchased a moderate room online then asked for an upgrade when we got there...they gave us the city room for no charge and it overlooked the pool and you turned your head to the right and there was the ocean. It was perfect and very reasonable. Everything is very relaxing and tranquil here. We walked down to hilton hawaiian village and Im so glad we didnt stay there that place was a ZOO and its really far to walk to the beach from that hotel.
