"Waikiki Beach was across the street. Surrounding stores and restaurants were very nice. Service at the hotel was great! I was most impressed with the hospitality room as our flight did not leave until 11:00 p.m. We were able to swim until sunset in the ocean and then shower and clean up in a very nice hospitality room before leaving for the airport."

"We were traveling with teenagers and grandparents and had two rooms booked for a couple of nights. They were full and upgraded us to the presidential suite at no charge. Awesome rooms, top floor, two bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, dining room, wrap around balcony that overlooked the street and we were high enough up that we could see over the other hotels to the ocean. Too bad we were only there for two nights and then on to the big island. Hotel is a little old and could use some updating but obviously the top floor presidential suite at the cost of two regular rooms is a way good deal."

"This Hotel is right across the street one short block from the beach on the busy street. It is a very large hotel, we stayed on the 25th floor. Somewhat challenging for those that don't like heights but hotel was clean and safe. Internet access is downstairs in the lobby on machines with 15 minute limits. There is one machine you can pay for. You can also pay $14.95 for Internet access in your room. The pool closes before the Music show outside (around 6-7PM) but you can watch the show from poolside for free and not have to order a meal. Food is expensive in Waikiki but check out the food court at the Royal Hawaiian Mall for some good cheap offerings. In an alley West of the Hotel before the International Market are a couple cheap restaurants, Korean and Chinese (Fattys) that are real reasonable. Parking is onsite (no elevator in the parking garage) and is $20.00 per day so figure that in your costs."

"About the facilities and staff: great.
However, if you are on a budget, beware of the extras like a 17 dollar per day per room service charge for parking, pool, concierge, etc. This can have some folks cutting back on meals or excursions.
Otherwise a great place to R and R."

"We were very pleasantly surprised to have a view which we thought would be somewhat obstructed and yet be able to see a fair amount of the ocean. We were on the 9th floor overlooking the pool (in the Princess Tower I think), and we could see the very attractive old-fashioned Colonial-styled hotel across the street which was directly between us and the ocean, along with a portion of the ocean beyond it and an unobstructed view of the ocean off to the left of it.
The room was nice enough and clean. We were only 3 rooms away from the elevators, so we found that we could hear them from about 6 a.m. on. I found it a kind of mild, soothing noise, but my husband found it annoying.
When our neighbor turned on his TV after midnight very loudly and awakened us, I called the desk and they sent security right up to tell him to turn it down.
We did not eat at the hotel because we were trying to save money, so it's nice that they have a fridge in the room (so we could have milk cereal for breakfast...bring cereal from home and buy milk at Costco or something, it's $9gal. in Waikiki!)."

"I was a bit surprised by the property. Sheratons are usually very nice hotels. This is an older property and I would say not up to the usual standards of a Sheraton. Having said that I will say that it was clean and the service was very good. The price was fair but don't get the idea that you are getting a smokin deal on a Sheraton room. Be aware that there is a $20 a day parking fee (like many Honolulu hotels)"

"Although the hotel met my expectations, especially considering the price, there were two specific problems with their charges. My son wears "bedtime protection" due to a condition he has. His protection must have leaked one night, because the cleaning person reported a wet bed (pull-out sofa). When I touched the mattress, it was dry. The hotel replaced the mattress without having a member of management check the mattress in person and charged our credit card for a new mattress. We were also charged for a phone call we never made (we had our own cell phones with us), but the hotel removed the charge when I challenged it."

"The very best thing about this old slightly rundown hotel has going for it is the location. It is great. The hotel itself is in bad need of renovation. the rooms are small and bathrooms need severe upgrade. That said, beds are comfortable, In room safe, mini frig and coffee maker a big plus. Rooms aren't dirty just feel old but they have upgraded TV's to flat screen and that was very nice you can plug in your ipod and listen to your music while getting ready for the day. Let's face it, you don't spend that much time in your room in Waikiki anyway. It's all about location and this hotel has that in spades. So I'd stay there again, no problem. I do think the staff and service could use a bit of an upgrade as well though considering the prices. When offering price specials this old lady can be a great deal. Biggest complaint was street music noise until wee hrs of morning. Steel and regular drums very loud even with earplugs, NOT GOOD. They are supposed to quit by 10:30p never did. Hotels should help police this."

"The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is a good hotel for the price and location. While not right on the beach, it is a quick walk across from the beach. There are tons of dining and shopping locations nearby.
We chose this hotel because it offered some of the lowest prices we could find in Waikiki while still providing decent quality. The room was a mixed bag: The decor was outdated and most of the fixtures were shabby, but we had a nice flat screen tv. The beds were small and not too comfortable, but the pool and lobby areas were pristine.
The location is quite noisy, being as it is right in the center of Waikiki. Be prepared for music coming from the streets until the late at night. I remember waking up at 1 a.m. and being surprised the street performers were still out and about making noise.
Don't plan on spenind a lot of time in the room and you need an affordable hotel, this is a good choice."

Unfortunately, I did not discover this until after I paid $6 to use the "print station" near the Internet terminals. The "print station" would not print my boarding passes. When I went to the front desk to seek a remedy, the clerk pointed to terminal near the concierge desk. This station allowed access to the various airline sites and had a printer attached."

"This hotel is a reasonably (for Waikiki) priced hotel right in the middle of it all. It is centrally located with easy access to everything. My wife and I had stayed here about 20 years ago, and this time we brought our children with. They have done a good job keeping the property looking fresh. I would go back again. The only bad thing is that the pool closes at 6pm, since the open air restaurant is in the same area. But you do get an offset, the stage with nightly entertainment is located there also, and available to watch at no cost."

It was two double beds instead of one king (not a problem for us since we sleep in a double at home) and had a lanai overlooking the pool. On Day Two of our stay, we came back from sightseeing to find a fresh fruit basket and a large box of chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, courtesy of the GM. That lanai was the best part of our stay--especially at night when we could sit and listen to the live Hawaiian music by the pool. Perfect location, too!"
