"Quality was fine, the staff were great but we entered through a side alley door and something was lost in translation. The front street is under construction. Time will fix this but I had wished we were someplace more put together. We weren't offered coffee (though I saw on the receipt as we left that it was complementary) and the mini bar prices were high. Other than that, the windows opened and it was very nice."

"We loved the room and the hotel all in all. The only bummer was the road construction and the temporary entrance hassel. We had to drive around the block multiple times before we figured out how to get in."

"The Grand Hotel Minneapolis was amazing. Not sure what else to say. From the moment we arrived until the time we left we felt so relaxed and pampered we almost didn't want to go do anything else but hang out in our room. We will be making future reservations at the Grand without a doubt. Can't wait to stay again."

"This is our second time staying at the Grand. The hotel's a classic, boutique hotel -- one of kind, that dates to the early 20th century. Despite being "old", it doesn't have a musty feel. The rooms and hotel has all been redone, complete with flat screen tvs in the room. Besides it being a unique place, the real draw for us was the complimentary pass to the downtown Lifetime Fitness facility -- which is the best in town. For us, the real treat was the swimming pool, with its neo-classical, if slightly cheesy (in a lovable way), feel. The lone drawback was that the phone in our room didn't work and that a lightbulb in the bathroom was burnt out. Still, I'm sure that hotel (service was top notch) would have fixed it, had we called on them. Know that it's 3 blocks from all the action on Nicollet. It didn't bother us. It was summer, and we were from here celebrating our first day without our kids in a year, complimentary of our parentsin-laws."

"Excellent rate service. Very little to no noise. Excellent sushi bar in restaurant. Will use this again when we return to Minneapolis. Only downside was road construction but we called the hotel and they immediately told us which garage to park in causing only one trip around the block."

"While on a trip to Minneapolis my wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Minneapolis for three nights. It was a beautiful hotel with great amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were really comfortable and the gym in the hotel was the best gym we had ever seen in a hotel. Almost forgot the double shower heads and my wife couldn't stop talking about the great bath products. We didn't eat at the restaurant but heard it was great food. The only bummer about the hotel was all the road construction in the downtown area. We will definitely stay at the Grand Hotel on our next visit."

"A number of small issues combined to leave a bad taste in my mouth. The coffee service that came late and not as ordered. The lack of in-room coffee. The 6 am wake up call that did come but was not requested. The poor quality of the cable TV service. The very small window with a poor view. Given the hotel's reputation I expected better. There are too many option in Minneapolis to consider returning to the Grand."

"This was my third stay at the Grand Hotel, and I will definitely stay here again. I've stayed at newer, trendier hotels in Minneapolis, but I keep coming back here. The location is great (although the current street construction is stinky)--close to everything. My room was very comfortable and extra quiet. And I love the bathtub! A soak in it is a great way to end the day. Finally, this is the first time I used the fitness center, but it is amazing--not your average hotel fitness center with one bike and a treadmill."

"I realize that Minnesota has two seasons; Winter and Road Construction, but during the time of our stay at the Grand Hotel the construction was right out side the front door. This wasn't a huge problem but there was no warning and when we arrived, in an unfamiliar city, we went around probably three or four times before we found the valet on the side street. When we got to our room the TV remote didn't work well and the remote telephone didn't work at all. These things were corrected post haste but we shouldn't have had to ask."

"fantastic stay. went to two white soxtwins games, this was exactly what we were looking for. easy walking distance to metrodome, bars, restaurants. it was perfect. highly recommend it. also mannys steakhouse was outstanding. will return for sox game next year. maybe blackhawk game. just need a reason."

"The downtown area of Minneapolis is in a major upset with road rebuild and construction. The front door of hotel was all but impossible to get to because of construction. We had to seek out parking on our own. The rooms were very clean but without any sort of view. The furnishings are nice but did not provide a comfortable place to sit for a cup of coffee. Bathrooms extraordinary with separate shower and bath area and lots of mirrors. Linens exceptional. Overall a good hotel for business travel."

"The hotel was very fancy! The amenities were top of the line. The bathrooms were large and completely marble.And the bed was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. However, for the price I thought the room would be bigger. It felt small, since the king sized bed over-took the room. The view was nothing to behold so we kept the shades drawn. We used the pool with the complimentary fitness club membership. My blonde hair turned green and I was forced to cut several inches off to get rid of it, since nothing else worked. Please wet your hair first! The shampoo and conditioner in the locker room were very cheap and left my hair greasy and snarly. Bring your own toiletries."

"Stayed August 1-2nd. Booked the Romance package for $259 a night. It included an upgraded room, champagne and strawberries, $40 credit to room service breakfast, and valet parking. Check-in was fast and efficient. Every person that we encountered during our stay was polite and helpful. "The only thing I didn't care for was that we could not open the curtains and let the sunshine in. We were in the middle of the block out one window were offices directly across from our window and the other direction was impossible to access because of the writing desk in the way of the window. Other than that, we were placed at the end of the hallway, it was wonderully quiet! Clean rooms and curteous staff."

"This was our second stay at the Grand and we had a grand weekend! We were addressed by name by the doormen, front desk staff, as well as the room service operator. We loved working out in the fitness center and being able to go back to our room to shower and dress for dinner. The Grand staff had their car take us to our downtown restaurant, and the driver gave us his contact information so that we could reach him for the ride back. Definitely use the $5 parking (on the weekends) in an indoor lot around the block - convenient and inexpensive. Overall, we had a delightful weekend and felt pampered."

"If you stay in a hotel to be pampered and carry a wad of one dollar bills, this is your place. But for a self-service kind of person, I'd look elsewhere. I admit it, I'm cheap. "My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a weekend at the Grand. Excellent, world-class service from the moment I booked the room until we reluctantly left Sunday morning. "One issue (really the only issue at a fabulous location)regarding the Grand Hotel is finding parking. Passenger cars are banned from the street in front, at least on the side on which the hotel is located. While the hotel has a valet, it is located around the corner and poorly marked. There is a parking garage across the street, which is the most convenient location for self-parking. At check-in, I was not asked about parking at all. My recommendation is that you have a good plan in advance as to where you wish to park. Traffic can be quite congested in the area around the hotel and you don't want to be making it up as you go along."

"My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our wedding night last year and thought it would be sweet to spend our first anniversary at the Grand as well. It was everything we remembered it to be. The rooms are very comfortable and there are so many things to do, you really don't need to leave the hotel for anything. As locals it was very nice to check in and have a mini vacation right in our back yard. I know we'll be booking a room for our second anniversary as well!"

"Beautiful hotel. We stayed during a snowstorm. There were very few in the hotel. My husband asked for an upgraded room. We were informed they had already upgraded us. It was a very nice small room with a view of the rooms next to us. The restaurant was empty. The shoe shine service didn't return my shoes with multiple calls. We finally had to check out and wait for my shoes in the lobby. Service is crummy"

"My sister and I took a shopping trip to Minneapolis. The Grand far exceeded our expectations. The hotel was clean, the staff very attentive, and the dining exquisite. The spa was a nice treat. The hotel is also in a convenient location to the light rail and downtown shopping."
