I was pleasantly surprised. very nice staff, clean hotel and surprisingly quiet. my room was right across from the elevator and I did not hear a thing. nice size room, comfortable and clean. will make this my hotel of choice when travelling to NYC. my only complaint is that there was no valet to take my car when I arrived. in NYC this is important as it's rare to find a parking space in front if you hotel."

So, yes, I would stay at a Kimpton again and would definately recommend them others."

"I had stayed in a Kimpton hotel in LA a few months ago and had a lovely experience. This one is also a really nice boutique hotel. I was treated so well and was upgraded to a deluxe room without having asked for it. The roon was comfortable and very clean. They also have a wine hour from 5-6 everyday. The hotel is situated lower than Times Square, which may be a disadvantage for walkers. I can not think of any other negatives. I would definitely go back."

"Like the hotel- I think sometime when you book through Hotels.com and the room is prepaid, the hotel throw us into the lousiest rooms because we are already captive. When I asked to relocate- the management replied that the hotel was sold out. Since it was a two night stay, I did not want to move for just one night, but probably could have it I had pressed the issue and moved on day 2. Otherwise the hotel is fine. I have stayed in many other of the Kimpton hotels and they are usually a very safe bet."

"I think we were expecting something a little more upscale. The lobby vibe was there, the staff was there, but the room was a let-down. The first room had frosted windows that faced nothing, the second room they upgraded us to faced Park Ave. and was lovely, but the central air didn't work and the window unit wasn't up to par so it was hot at night. The bathrooms in both rooms were the absolute smallest bathrooms I've been in in any hotel. There was a sliding mirrored door on the bathroom in the first room - which helped a little, but the second room's bathroom door opened in which put it in the way of the sink. There was no room for a toilet-paper holder on the wall, so they had it on a stand - that way you had to move it out of the way depending on where you needed to stand or sit. The bath had glass tiles for a nice touch and the L'occitane products were great. The lobby was a favorite hang-out from 5-6 with wine and a great fruity sangria - we met lovely folks from all over the world. We missed the morning coffee as they shut it down at 9 a.m. and with kids and juggling the tiny bathroom, we never made it down in time. Nice staff, nice location, tiny loo."

My only complaint is that the bathrooms are TINY, even by New York standards. I shared a two-bed room with my grand daughter and you can forget privacy in the bathroom as the door is a sliding door mounted on the outside of the room, leaving a large gap. Nothing escapes notice. Next time I'll upgrade to a larger room if I'm not traveling by myself. I have already recommended this hotel to my co-workers and friends."
