I stayed at Hotel Palomar Philadelphia while celebrating my 40th birthday. The entire staff from the bell hops to the management made my stay positively memorable. Where do I begin?! Accommodating, professional (but not stuffy), funny, flattering (Oh! Mr. Winston, you don't look a day over 27!), extremely clean rooms, and let's not forget the amazing pillows (Especially after the night I had, I needed a great night's sleep). I will continue to stay at the Kimpton hotels and recommend it to everyone!

Loved, loved, loved our entire experience last weekend. Ive traveled extensively and would put the Palomar up there with my best experiences top to bottom. Really appreciate their company diversity and LGBT policies. Front desk staff was lovely and attentive - esp Demetrio. We are local and will be booking a once a month date.

This hotel goes above and beyond as a simple matter of course. They anticipate your needs, and provide a level of service, hospitality, atmosphere and comfort that is rarely seen these days. Hotel Palomar is my new home away from home when I'm in Philadelphia!

Staying at the Hotel Palomar in LA. Great hotel, friendliest staff ever especially since I just jumped out of a cab car with a really mean driver. Beautiful place, will definitely check out the one in Philly, at some point, my homebase. Highly recommend.

"The Soffitel is a fine hotel. The room I had was a small suite and very stylish. I did hear the door of an adjacent room slam several times, but other than that it was quiet - and comfortable. There is a bar in the lobby and the neighborhood is great. I plan to go back there every few months."

"I had done a lot of research on downtown hotels before selecting the Sofitel. I had high expectations based on the reviews that I read, and we were not disappointed. I was traveling with family so my husband and I got a suite, and the kids had a room with two double beds. Both rooms were well maintained with quality finishes; the beds were exceptionally comfortable and the big-screen plasma TV's were nice and satellite cable provides a broader range of channels than is typically found in most hotels. The only downfall is that during bad weather, the cable satellite signals become unavailable so when you're stuck in the hotel waiting out a storm, there is no television reception. This is great value for the money."

"The service was sub-par for a four star hotel, the sound proofing in the rooms was terrible (we heard every slamming door and every conversation our neighbors were having), it was nice, but definitely not at the level I expected by any means. It felt more like a 2 or 3 star hotel. The only pros were the location and the gym. Would not stay here again."

"The hotel was nice. The furniture in the room had some wear and tear, but the comfort and service were excellent. They have a great (but expensive) bar downstairs and the front desk was superb in changing our room when we first checked in as it smelled like a smoking room. They gave us a nice room up on the top floor."

"Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Service was great, room was amazing and location was awesome. Wasn't a huge fan of the parking. It's valet only - $36 - and the hotel is located on a narrow street so there's just a small area directly in front of the hotel that the valet service is available. Given the small space, it's sometimes time consuming trying to exit the area depending on the number of cars being dropped off or picked up. Allow at least 15 minutes to have your car brought around to you."

"The Sofitel is a well-appointed hotel in a nice part of Philadelphia. The interior is very nice and the rooms are comfortable (the bed was especially nice, the blankets and matress were superb). Two bad items: 1) Parking. The valet is $36 wtax, which struck me as high. Also, reception area is very small; I had to leave the back end of my car in traffic while I waited for the valets to make space. 2) The bathtub. The entire hotel is so well appointed, and then when you get in the room you see just a normal tub. It was clean, and the stand-up shower stall beside it is very nice, but I expected a larger, Jacuzzi-type tub. All in all, not bad. To quote Ferris, "If you have the means, I highly recommend it. It is so choice.""

"We've stayed at this hotel before and could not be more satisfied. This time however, we stayed in the same level room called a "superior King" but found out after a night of constant noise from a room nextdoor that it was infact a service room. After asking to be moved for the next night we found that all rooms that end in 25, (ex. 425, 525 etc..) are next to service rooms so the banging and door slamming we heard all night was hotel staff. The other piece was that all of the "25" type rooms are substantially smaller but they charge the same and call it a "Superior King" as well. The staff seemed to know what we were going to complain about before the words left our mouth but they graciously relocated us for the next night which was quiet, larger (normal size) and perfect. This hotel is top notch and I highly recommend it, just don't get a room ending in "25"."

The location is very good as it's just a few steps off of Rittenhouse Square, one of the nicest areas of Philadelphia. This is also the one drawback to the hotel. Parking is extremely limited and the valet staff have to run a distance to retrieve your car. If you need your vehicle for a certain time, you have to call ahead to have the valet retrieve it at least 30 minutes ahead, but this is certainly no reason not to choose the Sofitel-terrific place to stay."

"We had an amazing week. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't know what we liked more...the view from our room or the room itself. Already planning our next weekend get-a-way back to Philly!!!"

"We booked the hotel based on location and reviews and we were not disappointed! The hotel was amazing and the service was top notch. We saved a good bit of money by booking with Hotels.com and stayed at one of the nicest places in the city. The hotel is a bit on the modern side but beautifully appointed. As everyone has raved, the beds are absolutely dreamy! We almost stay another night, just to sleep in their beds! Since we arrived on a Friday night and went to the bar to enjoy a few cocktails before dinner. It was by far the most adult and civilized happy hour we have experienced in quite a while. Everything about the Sofitel is is top notch and just perfect!"

"The room was spacious and comfortable, very clean bathroom, overall excellent. The front desk personel were a bit unhelpful; explanation as to why an additional credit card was needed not explained properly."
