"Nice hotelcondo they will try to sell you timeshare but great amenities great for the kids with indoor water park with slides and water themes adequate for all ages. Small slides for the tiny ones and big water slides for the big kids indoor facility allows you to stay out of the heat which can be intense in mid summer. Lazy river and pools were adequate and fun for kids. Room was a 1 bedroom suite had sofa pull out 2 queen beds in 1 bedroom, murphy bed in living room more than adequate for our family of 3 and could have held more. Cooking facilities on premises great if you don't want to eat out all the time kitchen was fully equipped. Tile floor in most of place carpet in bedroom and living room. Towels were old and worn and would recommend bringing your own towels washcloths and couch could have used steam cleaning but other than that great place to stay. All units seem to have different decor ours was average and view was not direct ocean but was as expected as no ocean front were available. Small balcony served its purpose."

"If you are taking the kids to the beach this is the place for you. I did love that aspect but it was allot of children there in the indoor water park. I guess we should have expected that since it was peak summer time. I don't know, it was just allot of kids. I didn't like being on the 1st floor because everyone in the pool could look in your room but its great when transporting the kids around. It's in a great location on Ocean Blvd near everything. The beach didn't have too many people on it and the water was very nice. It has a kitchen i would advise using it because the cafe is pricey especially with kids and the buffet is not worth it even though the kids were free for 3 and under. Not enough variety. Overall there were some downfalls but I would go back just at a different time."

"The room was extremely clean when we arrived, which is rare for a room on the beach, as we have stayed at other resorts in Myrtle Beach and the rooms were not as clean. The only negative is that housekeeping never showed on one of our days. We did request fresh towels and they arrived in minutes. Overall, this was a very nice place to stay on the beach. The staff was courteous and the resort is in a nice location, on the northern end of Myrtle."

The kids loved the waterpark, the lazy rivers and the pools which stay open until 11PM. Breakfast buffet is ok. The location is great since it's close to so many restaurants, shops and Broadway. Should definitely try Carolina Roadhouse, 5 minutes from the hotel. The food is delish!"

"We picked the hotel because it had oceanfront rooms and we were willing to pay for it. Unfortunately we were stuck in a first floor room beside the kitchen looking at the pool deck, and because there were no other oceanfront rooms available, we were stuck. It was our anniversary, so we weren't going to spend the time to find another place. The hotel also did not compensate us for our unhappiness. Ok hotel for the money, especially for kids, but this experience left a sour taste in my mouth and probably won't go back. Just be sure if you pay for oceanfront to get the view, you are a few floors up! Probably shouldn't have reserved it online."

"The hotel had exceptional views of the ocean, not to mention the pool and jaccuzi. The waterpark inside the hotel was great fun for the kids and a nice place to get out of the sun. The housekeepers where extreemly polite and respectful of your needs. We stayed an extra night because we had so much fun. For a family of 5, (children 1,7, and 9 years of age) we could not have planed a better vacation even with triple the budget we had set in place. The town had so many fun things to do that we could have stayed anouther week and not have gotten bored! I highly recomend two things that are must for anyone going to myrtle beach. 1. the slingshot and 2. the endangered cat exhibit. For a fee you can get your picture taken with a bengle tiger that sits on your lap!! So
Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!
Myrtle Beach was a very clean town with very polite people everywhere we went. The restaurant selection is unreal and if you love golf this is your paradise. We will be back!!"

"I wished they could have cleaned in the morning versus late afternoon, ie nap time. Also, they request children with swim pants stay out of the outdoor pool. They are therefore limited to the lazy river or ocean. Had I known that I honestly would have gone somewhere else. I will next time for the issue of the pool. It is hard to explain to a 2 year old that she is not allowed in there, although I see others in swim diapers in there."

"I have been going on vacation to Myrtle Beach for 25 years so I know what the hotels there offer. The Dunes Village is one of the best on "the strip". It is composed of two towers, The Palmetto and The Palms. We were in the Palmetto.
When we arrived, a bellhop greated us and brought us a cart, then proceded to unload our van and show me and my children (ages 3 6) to our room while my husband arranged parking. The bellhop even unloaded the carts for me in the room.
The room was very nice and super clean. The colors of the curtains and bedspread are a little "loud" for my taste, but they are modern and tropical. We had an oceanfront efficiency and the kitchen was nicely stocked with flatware, a few pots and pans, glassware, bowls, plates, cooking accessories and some serving bowls. I was impressed that the freezer had an ice maker.
The bed was comfortable enough but the pull out sofa was not as great. Then again, I have yet to see a sofa-bed that does sleep good. They had extra pillows in the room and the pillows were nice and fluffy. The in-room safe is free and easy to use. The air conditioner worked fine and did not leak out onto the balcony; common at the beach.
The indoor waterpark is the biggest draw to this hotel. There are actually two, one in each tower. We used the one in the Palmetto the most because it has the two waterslides that are ok for little ones; adults too! The complex is out of the sun, but not enclosed. The sides have huge bay windows that allow for cross-ventilation. There was always a nice warm breeze blowing through. I never noticed that strong chlorine fog you get with some indoor pools.
My children loved the lazy river with it's addition of some shark shaped boats as well as the usual tubes. There are so many neat little things about the waterpark that I can't list them all. Even with all the kids running around, the pool area was very clean. There was a lot of staff around at all times maintaining everything. They were all very friendly."

It's clean, well staffed and with very affordable food options (snack bar coffee and snacks sold at regular prices, dining in cafe inexpensive). The indoor water park was much appreciated on overcast days. In short, this hotel is a very good value and, if you have children, it's your best option in Myrtle Beach."

Easy access to the beach and is near the main business road with plenty of places to eat. Kitchenette was a big plus and the 2 TV's let my wife and I watch what we wanted on our set and the kids what they wanted to watch on theirs. The staff is very friendlly and the prices are fairly cheap. The staff is friendly. We only had a few minor complaints...The sink in the dressing area was backed up, nothing too major. Also, we had an ocean front room on the 2nd floor that overlooked the pool. This was pretty annoying during the night time hours. We coulnd't sit on the balcony and hear the waves of the ocean. And there were palm trees in front of our balcony partially obstructing our view of the ocean. However, these were minor things to deal with. I am pleased with the over all cleanliness and up keep of this hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel. And will stay there again."

It is very comparable to other resorts that we have stayed in along the strand that are considerably less a night during this time. "The Hotel is a beautiful hotel as you drive up to it. The inside was even better. We stayed for the oceanfront and indoor water park. We were not expecting the room to be as nice as it was. Very clean, spacious, and comfy. The kitchette was a great feature in the studio room. The water indoor water park between the two buildings was fun for my son and myself. The water slides zipped me down. I enjoyed the way the hotel put a grassy area before the beach for the guests to enjoy and then a walkway to the beach. Security did a great job weeding out the people that were trying to use the facilities that were not staying there. The parking garage was across the street of which I heard some people moan about that. Of which is fine, because it does not take from the scenery of the beach or the hotel and it is covered anyways keeping my car from the elements. Your car would be safe there.
All in all two thumbs up from my wife and myself of which are prior hotel employees and are very picky."

"The hotel staff were excellent we loved the indoor water parks, especially the lazy river. Our room was roomy, very clean and we were nothing but impressed. We'll definitely stay at The Dunes Village Resort next time we visit Myrtle Beach."

"We just got back from a three night stay and were extremely pleased with this property, its location right on the beach, and the great value overall. The room was large and nicely appointed. Our balcony looked directly out over the pool and the ocean just beyond. Kitchen area had everything you'd need for a short stay. The staff was friendly and eager to please. Only minor complaints:
1) Poor linens on the bed
2) Allowing babies small children in the hot tub."
